 Peter Welch, who has served as president and CEO of the Sacramento-based California New Car Dealers Association since 2003, has been selected as the new president of the National Automobile Dealers Association.
Welch will take the helm at NADA, based in McLean, Va., on Feb. 1.

 Hurricane Sandy helped boost wholesale prices seen during December, with average prices rising by over three percent relative to November.
ADESA Analytical Services also reports that December has been a seasonally stronger month than November and more comparable to January in recent years.

Edmunds.com sen ior analyst Jessica Caldwell has been named the most reliable U.S. auto analyst in 2012, according to auto industry blog The Truth About Cars (TTAC).
This is the second consecutive year that Caldwell has earned the top honor, which is awarded to the analyst who makes the most consistent U.S. sales forecasts each month throughout the year. According to TTAC, Caldwell beat out 18 other analysts from the top financial institutions and consulting firms across the world.
